Time and Weather (tempo&TEMPO)
Strange things, languages.
In Italian, Time and Weather use the same word, Tempo.
This series considers some of the aspects of how both tempo and tempo affect things.

Blickensderfer 1912 (zinc, 2008) 18x24cm My father's first typewriter.

Si tratta dell’unico ‘Computer Portatile’ di mio padre. Una macchina da scrivere Blickensderfer del 1913, accanto al temperamatite Eros appartenuto a mio nonno da parte materna. Ringrazio Antonio Romagnoli per il gradito omaggio dell’incisione del ‘Trancio di Vite’ del Cacciarini, che fa da sfondo a questa lastra. |

Di Tempo&tempo questa lastra vuole rappresentare lo scorrere dell’acqua come soggetto principale, assieme allo scorrere del Tempo, riflettendo gli aggetti dei negozietti del ponte. Acquatinta in basso, acquaforte per il ponte. |

Olivo e rovi (zinc, 1986) 11x18cm 'An old Olive Tree', as my father would have written... In 1984 a bitter winter hit Tuscany and our olive trees, allowing prunes to conquer them. This old etching reminds me of my father, who that year did like the olives. |
